Donata Wenders

Donata Wenders is born in Berlin-Wilmersdorf in 1965. She lives and works in Los Angeles.

Her parents encouraged her to explore and develop different studies in the field of the Arts from early on. Next to her interest in Philosophy and World Religions, she was always drawn to graphic design, drawing, photography and dance. After graduating from school in 1983, Donata went on to study Film and Theatre in Berlin and Stuttgart, until she decided to concentrate on the photographic image. Studies of Cinematography was her path to Photography. She started to work for various film productions all over Germany as a camera assistant for a number of years. Next to being an assistant, she shot a number of films and TV-Movies as a Cinematographer. From 1994 on she continued to work as a Photographer and found her passion. Over the years she expanded her photography from the Movie Set to the areas she studied as a young woman.

She has been syndicated internationally in: The New York Times, Vogue, Marie Claire and The Rolling Stone, Der Stern, Esquire, Pen, Premiere, Chrismon, Shots Magazine, Casa Brutus, to name a few.
